Valentine's Day is great time to declare love for the things that really matter in life-- the parts of your life that you don't just really like a lot, but would experience soul-crushing can't-live-without-it bitter teeth-gnashing crying-woe-is-me suffering were it removed.
Great loves.
True loves.
Never-get-over-as-long-as-you-live loves.
The-world-is-a-bleak-and-lonely-place-without-the-existence-of-them loves.
Write-poetry-about-them loves, if you were, you know, into that.
Pine-for-them-endlessly loves.
If-you-were-in-junior-high-you'd-have-a-whole-notebook-full-of-doodles-and-your-name-next-to-theirs loves.
Loves that have the power to draw you in no matter what the circumstances because they seem to have their own gravitational pull... of love.
Things like...
Bacon
and
New York City
and
DVRs
and
Cupcakes
and
Green sauce from Pio Pio
and
iPhone aps
and
Target.
What are yours? (And obviously, the people and pets in your life that you love go without saying-- we all know you love them, most of the time.)
