Eight things I learned this weekend:1. Suz is expecting! YAAAY!
2. I undeniably, 100%, unequivocally hate Costco on a Saturday. If there is a hell, it is a Costco on Saturday-- minus the free samples.
3. My favorite Ingrid Michaelson song is now being used on an Old Navy commercial and somehow I found that depressing; kind of like going back to your favorite little cafe and finding a Starbucks in its place.
4. I have no more patience for C-SPAN's "Road to the White House" coverage. Has the White House relocated to Egypt? Because this is the longest. dang. road. ever. I want off. Call me when we get there.
5. Ben&Jerry's Peach Cobbler ice cream is pretty awesome.
6. How to perfect my Snickers cupcakes with a different caramel filling than I used the first time. Delicioso! These were a great success at work on Friday but an even better batch was created today. I think this might be my favorite chocolate-based creation yet.
7. The Cubs' pitcher Carlos Zambrano has a $93 million contract and gets to say things like: "...Six innings were good. We didn't want nothing major to happen, that's why I decided to go out of the game." I do not have 93-million anything and I don't use double negatives. Perhaps I shouldn't never start. Also, he got out of the game because he had a cramp in his arm. I don't even want to go into the kind of cramping I deal with in my own non-$93 million professional life. But the cubbies are still on top, so what can I say? But I've got my eye on you, Zambrano. You, your careless slinging of bad grammar, and your $93 mil.
8. If you leave a slice of pizza within three inches of the edge of the kitchen table, the laws of physics pause just long enough for Cody to reach it. True story.

Can I just say that I love reading your blogs. You always have something interesting and humorous to say (even if it is just about the facts of life). I hope I get to try one of these mouth watering cupcakes when we come visit Monterey again. I LOVE snickers.(hint, hint)
I agree - we must have the recipe now! I remember watching the Today show a long time ago, and they were comparing the health factors on various snacks, and I remember them comparing one of those packaged muffins with a Snickers, and the Snickers was better! Ever since then, when I grab a "snack," it's usually a Snickers, and I tell myself, "It's good for me!"
