Our fish's Christian name is Lazarus, and that is because Jonny raised him from the dead - true (and amazing) story. But most days, we just call him Fishy.
My friends fish (the fattest fish you ever saw) is named Fat Bastard.
Luke named his goldfish Raymond.
I am reminded of our dear ribbon snake named Alice, who moved across the country with us three times (and nearly escaped in St. Louis) before succumbing to either too many fish for lunch or lingering paint fumes (I blame the fish, since I was the one who had painted the room).
For you, Laurel: Jake G. has two dogs, one named Atticus and one named Boo (for Atticus Finch and Boo Radley, of course)!
Are those your fish? We once had a turtle names Humphrey Bogart who lived in the pond in our backyard until he ran away. That's right, our pet turtle ran away.
No fish in the McKay house. But we did get another puppy for Ellie Mae at one point and I think we named him the most genius of names--he was a yellow lab and we named him 'Jack Bauer.' :)
My first goldfish (also my first pets ever) were named Pebbles and Bam-Bam
