OK, here's me: watching The Biggest Loser (TBL) on TV, in my sweatpants and awesomely cozy Kirkland brand Ugs, and eating... wait for it... wait for it... Pixy Stix.
That's right, those paper tubes of colored sugar you probably haven't had since junior high. They are in the giant bowl of yet uneaten Halloween candy.
Commercial break on TBL. I get up to throw away Pixy wrappers. There are five. Somehow in less than 30 minutes, unbeknownst to my own consciousness--even while watching a show about people losing weight-- I consumed like 70,000 calories in dyed sugar. This rivals the time I picked out all the cookie dough from a pint of cookie dough ice cream while also watching an episode of TBL.
Something about this show puts me in an eating trance, apparently. I think it's a conspiracy. I think the show is sending out subliminal "eat junk food" messages so that the viewing public will gain weight; ergo, they'll need to go on the show themselves, or buy all the gear and work out videos from the TBL franchise at the very least. I'm on to you, TBL. I intend to write a strongly worded letter or something. After I finish this mini Snickers.
PS- Did you ever notice orange pixy stix taste just like Tang? I think it might actually be the same stuff. No wonder astronauts bounce off the walls.
PPS- Can we talk about the fact that you can buy this T-shirt online?
I heart that they spelled out heart instead of using an actual heart. There are a few color choices; this one is called, seriously, "Celestial White."
I heart that, too.

I heart Pixy Stix! I put that as one of the juevenile candy's I still often enjoy on one of your "Five" installments a while back. Pixy Stix and Fun Dips are where it's at.
where do you get that shirt online? too funny. but not as funny as you.
Laurel - Please don't think I'm crazy, but I don't know how else to contact you...and I wanted you to know that I know you're out there now...and I LOVE IT. I found you through Katie's blog.
Um, in case you need a reminder, I will give this clue: Glenhood.
So fun to read your blog from time to time! If you haven't already, you can check mine out through Katie's. Yknow..if you believe in blogger-stalking. Which I totally do. In case that wasn't already apparent.
That shirt is too funny. And yes, I always thought Tang tasted just like the orange pixy stix--I tried it (Tang) for the first time at a friend's house as a teen and it brought back sweet childhood memories of my favorite treat from our neighborhood ice cream man.
pleasepleaseplease tell me you now own that shirt.
too funny....don't worry that I just finished a bag of mini snickers that are constantly in my fridge.
You still have Halloween candy?! I plowed through ours long ago...
The shirt is great, who comes up with these things?
TBL also gives me crazy food cravings. I think it is because I feel particularly smug watching people 100 pounds heavier than me struggle with food. Usually, I am up against the anorexic crowd in NYC which leaves me paniced that string cheese is too fattening.
