I'm bandwagoning on the ever-so-popular shoe posts of late. Seems like everyone (read: two people) is finding fab footwear and blogging about it. Not to be left in the dust (or barefoot), this week's POW goes to my shiny new kicks. I just bought these Nine West heels: I've been on the hunt for cute black patent leather heels since I got my black pl flats a month ago and wear them every chance I get. There's just something about that shine I love. I wanted to expand the pl family by adding some big-girl shoes (aka heels.) But I needed to steer clear of the crazy pointy toe because those tricksters, trendy as they may be, create the illusion that my feet are about 7 miles long... (And at 5'11" tall and having what a relative once referred to as "monkey arms" I already have enough fashion challenges as it is. I don't need to add "water ski feet" to the list.)
Anyway, I found these and I heart them. I'm awarding them my coveted (read: arbitrary and not coveted at all) Product of the Week spot. They're surprisingly comfy and the toe isn't an uber-round-Minnie-Mouse-toe or a wicked-witch-pointy-toe, so yay. Plus, there's just something about a shiny new pair of shoes in the fall; something that makes me think of fresh starts and brings the twitter of anticipation for things to come.

Just my luck, I learn that it is not proper etiquette to not comment on a post I read, but the first post I read is a shoe post and I have to leave one. So what do I say, "Wow those are some really sexy shoes!", but that is probably not appropriate coming from a brother in law. Or I could ask " Are those two or three inch heels", but that might sound like I am actually interested in wearing a pair. I think I'll just say "Nice Kicks Laurel".
when i was little, i used to call patent leather shoes "clippy shoes".
I so love a girl who's already tall and buys 3-inch heels! You rock, La.
Well, those are some flashy shoes. Patent leather is very nice, but not the most scuff resistant. And, when they do get a scuff, fo-get about it. There is no fixing it or covering it up. That having been said, I'm sure that you're much more careful and smooth on your feet than I. But, how are these shoes going to fare with a shortest brother in the family who you happen to have beat without the heels? Maybe I'll just have to take Dave up a step and just go for a pair of three incher's myself. Do they make any sandals for the tropics that have really thick soles?
Oooooh me likey! I am obsessed with patent leather these days. Must find combination patent leather / plain leather ankle boots. Impossible!
SO SO SO right on about the whole 'pointy toed' trend - - obviously invented by Munchkinlanders that were holding Dorothy's hand when she 'clicked' her own shiny heels back to the homeland! Water ski feet is right. We tall girls have to steer v. clear of those potential fashion trip ups!
So cute! I might have to go check them out myself...
Good choice. Please post a picture of you wearing them.
love the shoes!
very cute, good work. you make me want to post my favorite new pair of shoes, also black patent leather. i love them but my feet hate them. i only wear them when i will not be walking in them! but gosh they are worth every bit of pain. by the way, i love your family pic here. check out esnips.com
